Teriyaki Beef (Fabulous Fondue- Year Two: Volume 10; January, 2012)


Prep time: 8 hours, 5 min
Cook time: 30 min
Ready in: 8 hours, 35 min
Serves: 6

Ingredients:
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. sesame oil
4 cloves garlic- minced
3 T. green onions- chopped
2 T. sesame seeds
5 lb. beef short ribs

Directions:
- Stir sugar into soy sauce in a bowl until sugar dissolves completely
- Whisk sesame oil, garlic, green onions, and sesame seeds into soy sauce
- Place short ribs in a large, reseal-able bag
- Pour marinade over the meat
- Marinate in refrigerator for 8 hours or overnight
- If not cooking in fondue oil pots as we did, preheat a grill to medium heat, and lightly oil
- Remove ribs from bag and discard marinade
- Cook short ribs on pre-heated grill until very firm, hot, and grey in the center, about 15 min per side; a thermometer inserted into the center should read 160
