Red, White, and Blue Shortcakes (American BBQ- Year One: Volume 3; June, 2010)
Prep time: 5 min Cook time: 10 min Ready in: 15 min Serves: 12 Ingredients: 2 1/3 c. Bisquick 1/2 c. milk 3 T. sugar (+ 1 tsp. for whipped cream) 3 T. butter- melted 1 c. heavy whipping cream 1 tsp. vanilla extract 4 c. mixed raspberries and blackberries Directions: - Preheat oven to 350 - Mix Bisquick, milk, 3 T. sugar, and butter - On an un-greased baking sheet, drop 12 spoonfuls of dough - Bake until golden brown, 10-12 min - While baking, beat cream, vanilla, and 1 tsp. sugar in a bowl until whipped cream consistency - Once shortcakes are done, slice in half and layer with berries and whipped cream *I found shortcake recipe here
